Our Process
Thinking about what happens after a loved one passes away fills most people with dread. Planning for a loved one's cremation or burial doesn't have to be confusing though. Our unique process makes arranging your loved one's services seamless. Our funeral directors are friendly and knowledgeable. We have broken down our funeral and cremation process below.

Transfer
We will bring your loved one into our care from wherever the death may occur. You can rest assured your loved one is safe at our secure care center.
Care
We believe in dignified and gentle care for everyone, your loved one will be bathed, have their hair brushed and dressed either in their own clothes or a hospital gown. Embalming may take place at this time as well (only if requested or necessary). They are then placed in their casket. Whether you choose to see them again or not, you can trust that your loved one will have the best care available.
Arrange/Plan
In our boutique Eastwood funeral home or even the comfort of your own home, one of our knowledgeable and experienced funeral directors will sit with you to walk you through our unique process and all necessary paperwork. Most importantly we will help you plan the best way to pay tribute to your loved one.
Say Goodbye
If your family chooses to have services they will proceed wherever and whenever selected. Our staff is experienced in and knowledgeable of all the various religious and cultural customs in Central New York. You will be impressed by the level of attention to detail your selected service will have.
Cremate
When all the necessary paperwork is filed, your loved one is transported to the crematory for cremation. You and your family are welcome to accompany your loved one to the crematory and participate in the process at Woodlawn’s state of the art cremation center. We regularly inspect our local crematories to ensure our families receive the highest level of care.
Pickup
When the cremation process is completed your loved one will be picked up. Any services planned can take place or your loved one can be hand delivered to you or picked up at our boutique Eastwood funeral home.

Lay to Rest
You and your family are welcome to accompany your loved one to the cemetery for cremation or burial and participate in the process as much as you would like.
Pickup
When cremation is selected and the process is completed, any services planned can take place or your loved one can be brought home from our Syracuse funeral home.
